What You'll Do

  • Lead design end-to-end across UX, UI, and research—taking ideas from concept through delivery.
  • Collaborate daily with product managers, engineers, and client-facing teams to translate business and user needs into thoughtful product experiences.
  • Conduct lightweight user research and synthesize feedback into actionable insights that guide design decisions.
  • Create and own Goose’s design system, ensuring it scales across multiple products and services.
  • Balance usability with business goals in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Lay the groundwork for Goose’s design culture and practices as the lead designer on the team.

What We're Looking For

  • ~4–6 years of experience in product design, ideally in-house on SaaS or B2B products rather than primarily agency work.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing UX, UI, and product thinking, with examples of cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience designing for enterprise or B2B workflows; vertical SaaS, fintech, HRTech, healthcare tech, or operating systems experience is a plus.
  • Comfortable working in a startup environment where priorities shift quickly and collaboration across teams is essential.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills to articulate design decisions to technical and non-technical teammates.
  • Based in Chicago, with the ability to work from our office 2-3 days per week.
