About the role

As an early sales hire at Goose, you'll take on a hybrid role that combines outbound prospecting with full-cycle sales responsibilities. Building a healthy outbound pipeline will be your main priority, but you’ll also work inbound leads, run discovery calls and demos, and help close deals as opportunities mature.

This role is ideal for someone ready to step up from a BDR or senior SDR position into full-cycle sales. You’ll collaborate directly with leadership and help shape our sales process and playbook as we scale.

We value thoughtful, quality outreach over volume. Your job is to create opportunities in a smart, intentional way while moving both self-generated and inbound opportunities through the funnel.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a high-quality outbound pipeline. We’ll give you a head start identifying targets, but we’re counting on you to use email, phone, social, and events to create industry connections and initiate sales conversations.
  • Qualify inbound leads and move them through the sales process. You’ll balance your outbound focus with working the inbound opportunities that come through our marketing and referral channels.
  • Own the sales process for multi-location pet service companies. From first touch through close, you’ll guide prospects through discovery, product demos, and decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline management and forecasting. You’ll provide clarity on revenue expectations and help us stay on top of sales activity and performance.
  • Help build the outbound sales process and playbook. Your insights will shape our messaging, outreach strategies, and how we approach prospects at scale.
  • Capture and share product feedback. You’ll relay what you hear from prospects and customers to our product team to help influence our roadmap.
  • Represent Goose at trade shows and set up local events. You’ll use these opportunities to generate leads and build relationships in the industry.
  • Develop long-term customer partnerships. You’ll help ensure a smooth handoff to our customer success team and contribute to retention and growth.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of SaaS sales experience, with at least 12 months as a quota-carrying AE or senior BDR ready for a closing role. You’re comfortable prospecting and ready to take the next step.
  • Experience building pipeline through cold outreach. You’re skilled at turning “never heard of you” into “tell me more.”
  • Comfort with technical products and complex value propositions. You can simplify complex ideas and make Goose’s value crystal clear to our prospects.
  • Self-driven and career-oriented. We’re in the early stages, so if you’re looking to be part of building something meaningful and aren’t afraid to take initiative, you’ll fit right in.
  • Proficiency with Hubspot or Salesforce. You should be comfortable navigating CRM systems to keep everything organized and the sales process moving.
  • Familiarity with prospecting tools like Clay, Apollo, or Sales Navigator. You know how to find and engage the right contacts using modern tools.
  • Based in Chicago and able to work in-office. Our leadership team is in Chicago too, and it’s important for us to work closely and collaboratively as we grow
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. This position does not provide sponsorship

Bonus points

  • Experience building outbound programs at an early-stage SaaS company.
  • Prior formal sales training (e.g., Sandler, MEDDIC, Challenger).
  • Experience in pet services, hospitality, or service-based industries.
